Are you influencing or being influenced? 



Remember, when you gaze into the abyss so too the abyss is gazing into you.

It is with this idea I state: when you reach to change humanity, so too humanity reaches to change you. 

When I began my blog, I wanted to spread a message of love and help create a culture of love. But I have gone off the grid for a while now and that is because writing became a daunting task. After the reviews and interaction I received from my first post on self-love I felt a pressure. Pressure to write not what I wanted to say to the people, but what I thought people wanted to hear me say. And as a result my passion was dwindling away. 

I realized, in trying to influence the world the world was influencing me. As I was gazing into the abyss, it too was gazing into me. And if I continued on this path, I would simultaneously become the abyss as it became me, there would be a very thin line differentiating my words from the world’s words. 

After this revelation I stopped myself and made a promise to always write what I want to write and nothing else. At first I thought this action of changing and being changed existed only in the world of those trying to blog. But I know now that that is not the case. Whatever we try to mend, repair, change or alter is doing the exact same to us. 

Envision you work for an NGO and you’re helping children in the third world. Whilst you are helping them you might discover that they are helping you. Helping you develop a character, practice gratitude and other things you wouldn’t have learnt without them. Or imagine you’re fixing a desk that broke, you will notice that while you’re repairing the desk your mind wanders and seems to fix itself. Or you’re cleaning the house whilst the action is simultaneously clearing your mind.  

It is evident that nothing we do in this universe is ever in isolation. Scientifically we know that there is an equal and opposite reaction for every action. This is true too in the lives of humans: whatever we’re doing to something, it is simultaneously doing that to us as well. This can either be good or bad and this knowledge shouldn’t frighten us rather it should empower us. 

And take this knowledge into our everyday lives and consider our actions including what our actions are reaping for us at the same time. 

For as we gaze into the abyss, so too it gazes into us.

Creating Healthy Manifestating Habits 

When the word ‘manifestation’ comes out to play, ideas of materialistic gains being manifested also come to the playground. But manifestation is more than just attracting a car, or a new job. Manifestation is the never ending process with which we create our lives. In every moment we are manifesting, every second we are thinking of something and hence attracting it. 

With this understanding we can really take power into our own hands and mould the circumstances we’re in to favor us. But as anyone who has tried to manifest something, it can be a difficult and tedious task. Controlling ones thoughts is not as easy as it sounds. And most of the time we are not aware of our thoughts, so how can we manage these to ensure that we are attracting the right stuff? 

This is where resonating and vibrating on a positive vibration comes into play. Oftentimes the circumstances we manifest are not necessarily a result of our explicit thoughts, but rather of our state of minds. And it is the state of our minds that dictate our vibration. The higher our state of minds the higher our vibration and the more positive our manifestations become. 

There are many ways to raise one’s vibration and resonate with higher frequencies. But I find that the simplest method is in fact gratitude. Everyday, before you sleep begin to list the things you are grateful for, all the things you can rejoice about. And repeat the activity as soon as you wake up. And every time you receive something that pleases you, make note of it and practice gratitude. 

Gratitude greatly improves our state of mind and elevates our vibrational frequency.

The A-Z’s of self-love 

In this modern age it seems self-love , in fact love, is an evasive idea we’re all struggling to grasp. Just take a look around you, there’s an unmistakeable lack of love floating about. People harming each other and in turn themselves. It would almost seem as if humanity was destined to hate. 

I was listening to a radio broadcast one afternoon, and a lady said: ‘You can’t give out what you don’t have.’ Which is quite true, how can we give love if we do not have love? How can we love our neighbors like we love ourselves if we do not even love ourselves? How can we expect to cure the world of hate if we are riddled with the disease ourselves? 

This is where self-love comes in. Noticeably self-love has grown in popularity on social media. I myself first came into contact with the idea on Tumblr. If you’re lucky enough to have come across this idea of self-love then surely you have also come across the hardships that come with attaining self-love. 

In this post I’m going to share a few A-Z tips that will hopefully make your journey easier. And if you haven’t started on the journey then these tips will be good to keep in mind for when you embark on your journey. 

Attend to your needs and wants. 

Become your own lover. Before you expect someone to love you, love yourself fully and completely. Love yourself like you would expect a Romeo or a Juliet to love you. 

Cultivate your mind. Always keep expanding the parameters of your mind, it is important that you care for your intellect. 
Determine your own self worth. Oftentimes we allow society and others to determine what we are worthy of, what we deserve. But we are the holders of our destinies and lives, so it’s time we take our worth into our hands. (Spoiler: each person is worth the universe and a little more) 

Energy is precious. Don’t waste your energy on unimportant tasks, people and situations. And remember the energy you give out is the energy you receive. 

Follow your heart. Cliche but I couldn’t resist. 

Go outside and breathe some fresh air in. The trees are tirelessly releasing oxygen solely so you can breathe. 

Handle yourself with care. Be gentle in the way you speak of and to yourself.

Find positive affirmations and keep saying them to yourself.

Just go with the flow. Stress is unnecessary, the whole universe is unfolding for you to succeed. 

Know your worth. Now that you have determined your own worth, it’s time to hold yourself to that standard. Do no accept any treatment that is less than your worth, even from yourself. 

Lose the negative people and negative situations. You won’t get ahead in the game around all that negativity. 

Make more demands. Ask for more. More from those around you and more from yourself.

Nutrition is important. Eat healthy, eat clean. Taking care of your body is part of self-love. 

Ok, so you’re doing everything I’ve just listed but you still feel crap? Carry on. Carry on, it gets hard, it was hard for us all. You’re not the first and definitely not the last person to struggle with self-love. 

Patience is key. Patiently and diligently you will attain self-love. 

Question everything in your life and whether or not it’s adding value. Keep only that which is valuable and good.

Understand yourself. This can only happen when you spend quality time with yourself. You can’t possibly fall in love with someone you’ve never met right? 

Vanity is not self-love and self-love is not vanity. You’re not selfish if you love yourself, in fact you’re anything but. 

Within you is everything you will ever need. 

is a cool letter. But exercise is cooler. Get active, be it yoga, jogging, walking, going to gym, anything just get active. 

You gotta get up in the morning determined to increase your feelings of self worth

Zilch, nothing. You owe other people nothing so don’t be guilted into doing things that bring you down. And don’t allow other people to use you and steal your precious energy.
